Cool Night Vision Goggles Demonstration
teeblred April 14, 2009 – 5:20 pm -This is a cool video demonstrating the difference that night vision goggles can make in a search and rescue operation. Can you imagine the results if all the rescuers could depend on is the unaided view to the left? Pretty hopeless. This video comes from the Sonoma County, California Sheriff’s helicopter.

Crank On This: Grundig FR200 Emergency Radio
teeblred April 13, 2009 – 7:25 pm -
Grundig Crank Radio
Take the Grundig FR200 Emergency Radio for example. This emergency crank radio, with a price under 40 bucks, has just what you might need in a tornado or other loss-of-power situation. The unit has a very sturdy hand-crank power generator that powers the unit’s AM/FM/Shortwave radio and built-in LED flashlight. If the power goes out this Grundig crank radio can operate for up to one hour with just one minute of cranking!
The Grundig FR200 Emergency Radio is lightweight which makes it a great addition to a hunting or fishing trip. Lightweight enough to even consider for backpacking when extra ounces really count. Turns out crank power is lighter than batteries!
It can sometimes to be difficult to find the FR200 in stock at the local electronic stores or even online. There seems to pretty stiff demand for this particular Grundig crank radio. eBay sellers always seem to have a dozen or so for sale at anytime and it doesn’t look like the prices are being bid too high. That’s the first place I’d look online for the Grundig FR200 Emergency Radio, and if none was available there I’d check Amazon or Tiger.

Trying The Samsung WEP 410 Bluetooth Headset
teeblred April 12, 2009 – 2:05 pm -
We needed a new Bluetooth headset to keep in the teeblrmobile and have gone with the Samsung WEP 410 Bluetooth Headset.
So far I’d say I’m liking this headset. It’s small and light and looks cool enough. I’m not the type to wear a headset 24/7 and just needed this for hands-free ops in the car.
With the Samsung WEP 410 Bluetooth headset the earpiece snugs down into your ear so it works well in noisy environments and with guys like me with blown out ears. It’s very comfortable to wear, very easy to place in your ear and an ear-hook not needed.
If you’re looking for a good price on the Samsung WEP 410 Bluetooth headset you don’t have to look any farther than Amazon. Last time I looked they had ‘em for $27.00, which is as good as anywhere.
